Recent News:

The ATC team is currently working on finding sponsors (is that you?) to fund the team's expedition to Mongolia to help herder independence, child education and disaster security. Mongolia is currently in the middle of one of the worst freezes on record, and with all media attention focused on Haiti, Mongolians are literally freezing or starving as their livestock freeze. This makes the Mongol Rally even more important than ever, and we're working around the clock to find sponsors to send us to this frozen tundra.

About the Rally:

The Mongol Rally began several years ago as a way to make the world less boring, and to help our fellow man in the process. 500 cars depart from London, Spain, and Italy simultaneously, and race to Mongolia to donate the car and an additional $1,700 USD to Mercy Mongolia.

There are no rules in the Mongol Rally, no set route, no assistance on the road, and no way to make the 10,000 mile journey in an ill-suited, 1 litre car without encountering problems. As the founding father of the Mongol Rally say, "If you haven't run into massive difficulties on the way, then you are doing something wrong!"

The rally is as much about charity as it is about making the journey. We'll be helping out those in need while traveling through 13 countries, 10,000 miles and several epic adventures.

About Mercy Corps - Mongolia:

Mercy Mongolia's mission is to "alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities." In Mongolia, the focus is on civil society, natural resource management and economic development. A donation made through First Giving (on the left side bar) will help rural Mongolians in several ways. Visit the Mercy Mongolia page to learn more, but make sure to return here to donate online.

Below is a video about Mercy Corps - Mongolia and the Mongol Rally.

About the Team:

The ATC team is comprised of one car and two people. Our team will caravan with other teams along parts of the route, which is outlined below. We're hoping to encourage a few more adventurous folks to travel with us, and if they say yes and sign up you'll be the first to know!

About the Route:

Each team in the Mongol Rally chooses their own route. We have decided to take a direct route from London to the Czech Republic and then vertically across Europe, Russia and Central Asia until we reach Mongolia. The list on the left outlines the countries we will pass through.

What is the Rally?

The Mongol Rally is a charity event wherein teams drive ridiculously ill-suited 1 litre cars across 13 countries covering 10,000 miles in order to donate their car, their time, and the money they earned in the event to the needy people of Mongolia. Click here to learn how you can help fund Mercy Mongolia.
