Abandon the Cube - The News
New with ATC: With four months to go until the launch of the Mongol Rally, ATC is busy planning the route, finding sponsors, designing the car and registering for visas. Learn more on the Mongol Rally and Sponsorship pages. You can also donate directly to Mercy Mongolia, a charity working to better the education and business opportunities of rural Mongolians, by clicking on the FirstGiving donation tab on the left.
New on the Website: ATC has also been busy adding new and interesting pages to the website, including a tribute to famous cube abandoners like Benedict Allen and Sir Edmund Hillary. You'll also find the addition of a resources page designed to help you assess if abandoning the cube is right for you, as well as where to find the best guides, travel websites, equipment, and language learning software. We also have a gear store, with products we have used in our travels, as well as many travel books we've read and guides that have helped us along.

New Charity Work: We've been volunteering at Habitat for Humanity while in Texas. Look at the house we helped build! The program is a great way to help people in need right here at home, and the folks who volunteer could not be nicer or more fun to work with. Check if you have a local branch and donate your time to help someone else achieve the dream of home ownership.

Mission Statement:
Abandon the Cube is dedicated to motivating and encouraging people to travel, learn about the world's history, write and experience more of life. Humans were not meant to be office creatures, but outdoors men and women with dirt under their nails. We hope everyone can create their chance to Abandon the Cube and find out what life can be.
ATC is also a firm believer in volunteer work. They are currently raising money to sponsor Mercy Mongolia. You can donate to this charity through the ATC website by clicking on the FirstGiving tab to the left.

Humor & Beer
What's any trip without booze, laughs and friends? Wondering where the beer went? Check out the Breakfast Beer page. If that doesn't quench your thirst, the humor page will have something amusing to ease your humor-parched lips, and if all else fails, the blog should at least provide you with something quasi-educational to do while avoiding your work.
